Niche Snowboards is a new kid on the block and we always salute new initiatives. So why should we be happy with another fresh player in the snowboard industry? These SLC-based guys are eco..and with eco they really mean eco.
They ditched fibreglass, which is used for strenghtening, and incorporated basalt fibres instead. Or this; the trees that are used for the woodcore are cut sustainable, so for each cut tree a new one is planted. And we’re not there yet, the sidewalls and edges are made from recycled materials. There’s no carbon used, but hemp instead. You get the picture already? E.C.O. with capitals that is. Ride these decks, trade in your V8 SUV for a Prius and you’re making Nico Müller look like an eco-amateur.
This is Niche’s parkdeck the Theme.
We haven’t ridden them yet, but if there’s just as much dedication in creating an enjoyable ride as there is in making it eco-friendly we don’t have anything to worry. Want to see the entire line-up: c-l-i-c-k.
